Vacancy: Linux/Network Systems Administrator
 

As a Linux/Network Systems Administrator you will be supporting an extremely technical R&D function and its connection to overseas offices and the parent company. Given the technical competence of the engineers who comprise the vast majority of the user base, this is a company where a technophile can focus on the acquisition of depth of expertise, rather than being buried in trivial support issues. Technologies you will work with: Build and administration of corporate Linux servers - Red Hat Build and administration of development servers - BSD IP networking and routing Cisco routers and switches VPN solutions Windows and Windows-based software This role offers an opportunity for a keen and technically competent candidate to break into a company working at the forefront of video conferencing industry where innovative solutions are frequently required within a short time frame. Main duties and responsibilities - Linux/Network Systems Administrator Network support Liaison with suppliers Maintenance of corporate Linux servers Maintenance of development Linux servers Configuration of video infrastructure and end points Configuration and support of user PC systems including security maintenance and VPN connectivity Skills and Experience sought - Linux/Network Systems Administrator We seek an individual with a numerate degree who has a working knowledge of relevant networking technologies and/or Linux systems administration. This may have been gained as a graduate during an industrial placement or in a commercial role. Alternatively you may have an extensive hobbyist interest and have your own network at home and some programming ability.
